Starting with a slide presentation, this talk was created to provoke a collective discussion and reflection where questions are still open and we can share different point of view. The slide presentation is just an introduction, touching important contemporary philosophy approaches and a synthesis of the main topics.
This is a good project to join during Festivals or Forum, where people can meet up each other face to face and have a kind of idea about the artistic process one of the other, as well as in education events where this Issue makes sense with the field of studies.

Mini research site-specific on connective branches
@ Antico Spedale del Bigallo, Florence
CUM+NECTARE Latin etymology of CONNECT
The connective branches refer to all those nodes or intersections that we daily cross in reality and virtuality, they are the paths that allow the intersections, they are those relationships with the surrounding that now we take for granted but which are not at all obvious or trivial if we consider the much broader options we have as humans to interact with the environment, be it social, architectural, urban, sound, kinesthetic, biological and so on

CUM _Tuning Soundscape
CONCEPT & CHOREOGRAPHY Livia Marques
DANCE Livia Marques in collaboration with Matteo Ciucci
CUM first part of the word *Cumnectare means in Latin TOGETHER, for this reason it is proposed a listening formatto the sound already present in the landscape itself.
From here is processed an open investigation on the reports that this specific soundscape can result in the body and dance

El horizonte no se mueve
The horizon does not move
O horizonte não se move
L’orizzonte non si muove
Der Horizont bewegt sich nicht
L’horitzó no es mou
What if I told you all lines are horizons?
The more you see and think about the horizon as a steady and unchangeable point of view, the more you start observing the movement of things closer to you. By paying attention to the closest objects, it is possible to feel them, hear them, smell them and taste them, rather than inferring about their perception in that distant place.
It is in these two contradictory concepts, movement and stillness, in which the viewer is invited to wonder if the horizon isn’t more than just a perspective illusion.

videodance – audiovisual installation
second research about Prism focusing on Cube, regular base prism
The Cube with its regular base is defined through six squares that we can understand as six diametrical opposite surfaces. The Prism, more in general, in his multi-sides, defines in his solid shape the idea of plurality and simultaneity of different points of view. A visual perception that wide spreads and becomes in tune in observing movement from inside and outside. Movement means as a continuos and basic element of Nature condition, and so not just but also of human beings.
prismatic 1 is composed by six different day-light-moments as subjects of investigation on a site-specific location (one of the roof of Alte Saline) that are in interaction through variation ways to build up an audiovisual installation, where the six day-light-moments are connected or not.
The anthropological and artistic methodology chosen is inside the international debate about the definition of videodance that it is possible to synthesized in the questions: does videodance witness the dance on stage? Or is it a hybrid landscape of poetic creation on the art of movement?

UnderControl performative / interactive installation
Schmiede 2014 _ first prototype
UnderControl is a project about our lives under control, in every movement, breath, mood, way, intimacy and, of course, privacy. This hidden sharp violence of our personal paths throughout the traceability of each action we do through a digital world and the extremely huge amount of infos, we freely give about our-selves in our everyday life. With this starting point the idea is to recreate a small scale space inspired by the Panoptic of Foucault where the human eyes of control will become – in an opposite prospective- different shooting eyes of the cameras and the live-recording will display a stream on the screens for an active audience.
The body will still dance in this small space with this specific condition, trying to define how we feel under control. The challenge is to research and find the poetic depth in these particular conditions coming from inspiration of our age of digital control, where the“eyes”are potentially everywhere, being not really aware of what are exactly all the consequences of this present and probably more intensive future conditions.
The audience is free to look at the body, the screen and/or at different screens at any time and at the same time.

Inspired by American lessons. 6 proposals for the next millennium by Italo Calvino, book focused on important concepts to keep in mind for new creation development such as lightness, quickness, exactitude, visibility, multiplicity, consistency, the video dance project is crossing over between site-specific spaces, editing, presence and sound.
The title Unnecessary is coming from a provocation because culture and art is never considered as necessary as useful stuff.

videodance – audiovisual installation
First research about Prism focusing on Cube, regular base prism
The Cube with its regular base is defined through six squares that we can understand as three diametrical opposite projections by three cross-square basis. The Prism in its multi-surfaces, defines its solid shape the idea of plurality and simultaneity in the different points of view. A visual perception that spreads wide and becomes a tuned to observing movement from inside and outside. Movement means as a continuos and basic element of Nature condition, and also of human beings.
prismatic 0 is composed by three different subjects of investigation called Dancing feet, Before Raining and Roses. That are in interaction through variation ways to build up an audiovisual trittico where it rise up the eyes movement, the vibration movement in Nature and the dancing movement from external and internal sight using the camera attached in many parts of the body.
The anthropological and artistic methodology chosen is inside the international debate about the definition of videodance that it is possible to synthesized in the questions: does videodance witness the dance on stage ? Or could it be a hybrid landscape of poetic creation on the art of movement?

G… (H) ATE (read as G8/eight, G.hate/hate, Gate/exit) is a dance work about the G8 of Genoa in 2001.
A study on movement which talks about issues such as fear, violence, protection, vulnerability, anger, power, endurance…. let’s reclaim for our rights! The show is not a documentary or a representation: there are six bodies on stage, which move and act, trying to evoke emotions experienced directly by the author during the G8. An attempt to remember, after over 10 years, what happened in those days, to reflect on timeless themes: the importance of the dissent and the need to give voice to ideals, but also the violence of death, the brute force and the collective trauma due to a rupture, a fragmentation, a collapse of organicity.

Fil rouge [installation]
From the interaction between the matter and a red ball of wool, the site-specific installation Fil rouge expresses the fragility of raw material, the interaction between art and an architectural space and the possibility of making malleable and diversifiable the red wire in its form and in its meaning.

Periferiche (peripherals in English) dance project was born in 2007 as a site-specific
investigation research at LibreriaCafe LaCitè.
The idea was be in physical touch with the space borderlines and the body surface of objects in
order to develop a starting point where the dramaturgy of dance arrives informally through the
impro-structure of the piece, supported by few elements for the costumes and a lot from the music
playlist and the piano live played during the performance.
The investigation of the peripherals was present also in the video shooting, done more freely
than a common video dance recording.

Contemporary Dance Training
Space, timing, gravity, weight, energy: these are the basic tools we will work and play during an intensive deeper study about movement and dance.
Skeletal levers and physics laws supporting the anatomical structures and functions. A technique training focusing on floor work and the engagement and tuning for the ensemble.
The Contemporary Dance Training is an intensive sharing moment where we analyse and go forward in contemporary dance research. Depending on the context and the group, the training can focus on different aspects of dancing process.
As a course with classes of 1h e 30 min or 2 hours.
Also as an intensive workshop 6 hours minimum.

The movement / sound interconnection
In the beginning was the dance-sound… James Joyce
An invitation for a Sound-Listening format, already existing in the landscape itself. By focusing upon all the nodes and intersections we daily cross in our real and virtual lives, we find natural routes and maps, allowing us to intersect and create relationships with our surroundings. These paths, often taken for granted, are not at all obvious or trivial if we consider the wide possibilities we have as human-beings to interact with the environment – social, architectural, urban, sound, kinaesthetic, biological and so on. From there, we develop an open investigation about the relationships this Soundscape can provoke in the body for dancing.
As an intensive workshop, at least 10 hours in 2 days or more.
Also as a course with classes of 2 hours or 1h and 30 min
